Soak up some lazy days

Feet on the dashboard, some old school rock&roll playing from the radio (just one song, but still) and my favourite boy driving beside me - priceless. I felt like a rockstar!
Lazar is finally back home and we're having some crazy time together. We're even planning a fun getaway (with Dexter, of course.), so keep your fingers crossed for some nice weather here!
Have a wonderful week everyone!

Closer

I think my Forms project will take a little longer than I'd planned. Firstly, because it's waaay too difficult to think of 30 different, but yet similar illustrations. Secondly, because at some point it gets really boring. And thirdly, because using just one colour isn't as fun as using all you want. That is why I took a break today (again) to draw this. It's nothing like my other illustrations, but experimenting is always good, right?

P.S. - oh, by the way, I always forget to tell you... you can now follow Little Birds on Facebook! Here's the link:

Springtime.

I greeted the first day of spring with a nice cup of hot cocoa and marshmallows (here it's more like winter is coming, not leaving). How was your first (official) day of spring?

Close

Although I am mainly working on Forms (who would have known that coming up with 30 basic illustrations would be so hard?) I wanted a little break from grey and white. I used one of my old sketches for "Close" and tried to keep it as simple and realistic as I could (I'm not very good at realistic drawing.) What do you think?

When it comes to best friends...

Today, a very special friend of mine made me cry. Of happiness.
Not because she knows I adore Tim Burton and all his works and has thought of me when seeing his book. Not because she sent it to me as a gift out of the blue, with no special occasion. Not even because she had put a dozen of colourful cards in between the pages so it looked even cuter.
Tim Burton's book has a dedication: "To Lisa Marie". My friend had crossed out that name and had written "Lily Bardie" instead. And I cried. I cried because it was too cute. And I cried because I love her and I miss her and I can't wait to see her this summer.
Thanks, soulmate.

Read of the month: March

I am only a couple of pages away from finishing Vladimir Nabokov's novel "Lolita". Such an enjoyable read, despite the controversial subject matter. Nabokov was a genius of language. He makes you ignore his main character's behaviour (who falls in love with a 12-year old girl) and even sympathize him. He writes so eloquently that every single page is interesting and pleasant to read.
Can't wait to see what the end is... but I am already sure it's going to be a good one.
What are you reading at the moment?

Forms.

I am currently working on a very cool project called Forms.
I can't say very much at the moment not because it's super secret but because I'm very superstitious and don't want to talk in advance and ruin everything... but here's a hint: I am working on a booklet. I need to finish 30 basic one-coloured illustrations (like the ones you see here) and edit some short stories and it may take some time... But once I'm finished I'll let you know all about it.

Cherry Blossom

Here's a super quick sketch I did for a project and really liked. Sometimes things come so easy (too bad it doesn't happen very often), especially when they aren't planned.

It's in the little(est) things

I just wanted to show you a glimpse of something really pretty I spotted on a random building today. Isn't it adorable?
