Falling

Have you ever had a dream where you are falling and you can actually feel yourself falling? It happened to me the other night. The feeling was so real that when I woke up it took me some time to realize I'm in my bed and not floating in the air, haha!
So that's how I came up with "Falling". It's a pretty simple illustration that would've taken me no more than 10 minutes, if it wasn't for the hair details. I've just got this thing about hair, you know...

  4. Oh, it's beautiful! :) Well, the illustration - not the falling sensation...lol. Whenever I have those, I'm usually *actually* falling off my bed!

  5. Lily I have had those dreams. I hate them! You've captured the feeling very well in this piece!

Please don't take offense to what I'm going to say...because I do love your art. If you ever sell any of your pieces I would be interested in buying one or two (if I can afford said piece) but I would ask one thing and one thing only, cover-ups. Now before everyone gets all broygus (Yiddish for bent out of shape) I truly do love your work, but because of the kind of people who are connected with my husband and HIS work, there would be offense taken at nudes, even artistically done nudes (and yes some of these people think Michelangelo"David" is tacky). So before I could consider buying I would ask for that one consideration. Whatcha think?

  6. Dear Lily -
I'm not offended in any way, actually I'm pretty happy you've brought up the question. That's why i started this blog in the first place - to hear what other people think. "Falling" is an illustration of a dream and a great challenge for me since I'm experimenting a lot lately and trying my best to improve my works. I am not sure i could cover up an already finished piece, but I finish a new illustration almost every week so I asure you you will find many good ones that wouldn't be offensive in any way!
The good news is that I am working on an Etsy shop and soon some of my illustrations will be available as prints and cards :)

  10. Lily thank you for not being offended! I know some artists have a slightly different opinion when someone like me asks that kind of question.

Let me know when you open that Etsy shop and I'll take a gander. (you can twitter me or let me know on my blog).

An old myth says that if you leave from a blog without sharing your opinion about a post, a little raccoon will sneak in your room tonight and it will steal your favourite pair of socks! Beware!
