Rhino

Thank you all very much for helping me pick up different and favourite African animals. I've already assembled the "perfect four" and all I need to do is... finish the sketches. The set will be ready in a couple of days, I think.
The Rhino took me some extra time, though. I was concerned it didn't look like a rhino at all, so I made four or five sketches, all from different angles. I think you can tell what animal it is now, can't you? :)

Read of the month: June

Here is another one of Nick Hornby's books that I really enjoyed. ("About a Boy" was magnificent!). "How to Be Good" is about a man who wants to be good, to help people and to save the entire world, and a woman, who once knew she was good, but is not that certain any more. It is all about how hard people find it to know how to be good, to understand what good actually means.
Although the end is a bit unsatisfactory for my taste, the book does offer food for thought. And it certainly makes you think whether your ideas of good are right.
What do you think, do you know how to be good? Or, like me, you are still learning?

Giraffe

When I finished this I immediately thought it would look great in a set of three or four. It's been awhile since I've drawn sets so I thought it would be fun. Could you help me pick the other two or three animals? I was thinking about a lion, but I'm not pretty sure I could use the same technique there... I'm making some sketches of elephants and zebras, too.
Please do tell me what is your favourite African animal! I might not have think of it and it could be just the one I am looking for! :)
Have a peaceful Sunday!

Jamiroquai, here we come!

Just a couple more hours and I'm going to see my all time favourite band Jamiroquai performing at a festival held here, in Bulgaria. I can't believe this is happening! I've been dreaming about it ever since I heard the news, and now that the day is finally here, I simply cannot be more excited! I am going to dance to my favourite songs, performed live by my favourite band, with my most favourite boy on Earth... can you think of a better date?

p.s. - on a side note, let me give you an advice: never trust one-time cameras. Remember when I told you about our attempt to take underwater pictures? We did the impossible to take 30 pictures just to understand the next day that... the film was empty. Such a pity! But oh, well. W still have all the precious memories! :)

Sun tea and best friends.

"The feeling of knowing how perfect your day will be just because you know how perfect the person you're going to spend it with is", tweeted Lubi about our day today. It was more than perfect, it was magical.
We finally got to try our underwater camera (in a hot tub, but still!) and it was such an adventure. It's definitely hard to focus (and to stay still) under water, but we do hope at least 3 out of 30 pictures would look fine. Can't wait to see them developed tomorrow!
The weather was perfect and we decided to spend the rest of it outside in the garden. We made raspberry sun tea, laughed so hard my cheeks still hurt and shared secrets no other person would ever know.
One word: magical.

Etar

"Etar" is a very beautiful architectural ethnographic complex in Bulgaria and also, one of my favourite places on Earth. It was some kind of a ritual for me and my family to visit it once a year and it brings the sweetest memories now.
"Etar" is a place full of workshops, where craftsmen are manufacturing different products before your eyes (pottery-making workshop, cutlery, coppersmithery, bakery) and thus you can observe the ancient technology and original instruments that have been used in the past. Lazar was pretty amused by hand-made (and super sharp) knives and I... well... I just couldn't wait to taste my favourite sugar flowers again!

Have a wonderful day!

Dexter's got a new friend!

It took me forever to figure out how to add music and upload this video... Probably that's why I never share videos! (although I have tons of.) I know it's bad quality but I really wanted to share this memory with you. Dexter's got a new friend, the tiny little kitty called Diego (strange name, huh? Not my idea!) and it's the cutest thing ever. I'm not quite sure Diego realizes Dexter is a dog (or the other way around, actually) and they are both very curious and excited about each other. Dexter wants to play, but is way too clumsy, Diego wants to hide somewhere, but is way too slow. It's adorable.
Dexter & Diego sounds like a mischievous pair. But a cute one, too.

Flowers in her hair

Summer is my season. Cold fruit drinks. Smell of roses (my absolute favourite place in my hometown is a rose garden that is just magical). Blue skies and pretty little white clouds. Don't be mad at me for being away for too long. I just celebrate summer.
I can't wait to put a flower wreath and run around my favourite beach just in a couple of weeks. What are your plans for the upcoming summer days?

Strawberry June

My June started with finally meeting one of my soulmates (I'm so lucky I have three!) and it feels just like old times. I also took the plunge and now I am driving all by myself, which is a huge step for me.
I am back in my hometown, I am with the people I love the most and I enjoy every minute of it.
My June is perfect. And it tastes like strawberries.
